Sangam Dairy, situated at Vadlamudi, 21 Km from Guntur, is one of the most renowned and trusted dairies in South India. Sangam Dairy was the first Guntur Co-op Milk Union in 1977, where in small and marginal dairy farmers in and around Guntur District began a cooperative movement. Later, Guntur Co-op Milk Union became a body corporate as Sangam Milk Producer Company Ltd (Sangam Dairy) in 2013.
What once started as a small union has now spread across various states of South India by processing milk and milk-based products, sweets, beverages, savories, spices, bakery, and many other products. This state-of-the-art dairy of 8.5 lakh liters per day processing capacity at Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, is a formidable and trusted brand in their areas.
Sangam Dairy is known for its rich and creamy taste and widespread portfolio of 31 products, 91 variants, and 185 SKUs. Looking at the rising demand for Sangam products, they planned to add lassi - a new variant to their portfolio. They required this processing line to run at a processing capacity of 3000 liters per hour.
Understanding the needs of Sangam Dairy, Neologic Engineers started the engineering of the plant in such a way that it would connect to the pre-installed lines without disturbing the ongoing production. The project design included:
Sangam Dairy, being a simple project, was still filled with complications. The new processing line set up was on the fourth floor of the production building. Even though the lassi and buttermilk lines were completely new, the required utilities and storage tanks used were of the existing lines.
As this new setup was on the fourth floor, infrastructural changes were made keeping in mind that their ongoing production was not affected. The commissioning of the plant was possible only once the plant was under its shutdown hours.
The project completion deadline was about three months. These three months included engineering, designing, and commissioning.
Sangam Dairy was aiming to launch its new products in the month of March, as it was the most suitable season for lassi and buttermilk but March was just three to four months away. To achieve their target, they chose Neologic Engineers because Neologic Engineers is well-known for its on-time delivery.
The lassi and buttermilk processing lines passed the trial test. Sangam Dairy was able to launch its new product segment within time.
“The Neologic Engineers team designed the entire plant in such a way that met our expectations and space constraints. They provided latest automated equipment for lassi and buttermilk processing lines. They also seamlessly installed an additional CIP circuit to our existing CIP module. We are now successfully running the plant for processing our new variants of lassi and buttermilk.”
