Neologic Engineers Modernizes Dodla Dairy’s Nellore Processing Plant

Dodla Dairy Limited situated in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, was incorporated in the year 1995 and production commenced in 1998. They have a milk distribution network across 11 states in India with value added products of Buttermilk, Ghee, Curd, Flavored Milk, Doodh Peda, Ice Cream and sweets. With average procurement of more than 1 million liters of raw milk per day, the Dodla Dairy Limited has been an esteemed customer of Neologic Engineers.

Dodla Dairy Production and Plant Requirements

Dodla Dairy at its processing plant in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, was handling 2.3 to 3 LPD of Milk through manual operations. They decided to go for complete automation for this manual setup to fulfil market demands and extend supply network.

Dodla Dairy Nellore Plant was in need of modernization and was looking forward to achieve the following objectives:

  • Enhanced Milk Handling Capacity expandable to 5 lakh liters per day.
  • Automate Procedures to scale-up productivity.
  • Reduce losses caused by human error and processing gaps.

With these objectives in mind, we studied the plant layout and areas to be revamped and level of automation to be deployed. After automation and technology installation, the Dodla Dairy Plant was integrated with:

  • Extended CIP Capacity.
  • Addition of Silos for Increased Milk Reception Capacity.
  • Fully Automated Pasteurization Unit of Milk and Cream with PLC Systems.
  • Minimized Losses and Greater Equipment Efficiency and Productivity.
  • Online PLC Support for Remote Resolution of Production Barriers.

We have had a past experience with Dodla Dairy for suppling Milk Pasteurizers & CIP Modules; client understanding & requirements were already well versed with our team.

Commissioning and Its Challenges

This Modernization of Dodla Dairy Plant being a Brown Field Project, the technology upgradation had to be employed without hampering the existing plant production. This was a challenging job in itself.

The parallel production was carried out with precise planning for installation and automation with equipment wise shutdown of particular sections. The pre-existing manual set-up was transitioned to new technology with careful step-wise automation.

Output Achieved by Dodla Dairy & Neologic Engineers

After specialized training of equipment operation and production protocols to the production team, the project was handed over in time.

Satisfied with the commercial running of the modernized facility, the Dodla Dairy Plant proposed installation of two new sections of Lassi and Buttermilk Manufacturing. With the same approach of development and installation, these facilities were developed, installed and commercialized within no time.
