Neologic Engineers Help India’s First Women’s Cooperative Dairy Expands Their Production Capacities

Mulukanoor Women Cooperative Dairy (MWCD) - India’s first women’s cooperative dairy, set up and run by women, dealing with milk and milk-based products. Mulukanoor Women Cooperative Dairy (MWCD) was established in 2002 in the Mulukanoor Village of Bhimadevarapalli, Telangana. It is a Cooperative Dairy Union holding 192 primary Women Cooperative dairies and spreads across Karimnagar, Warangal, Siddipet, and Janagoan districts. MWCD is well-known for its different milk variants, curd, ghee, buttermilk, and sweets.

Mulukanoor Women Cooperative Dairy Production and Plant Requirements

MWCD operates on complete manually functioning equipment with a processing capacity of 60,000 to 80,000 LPD. They majorly are into processing different milk variants, curd, and ghee. They also produce reconstituted milk (RCM) in the lean period using milk powder and butter oil.

With the growing demand, MWCD decided to expand their current plant’s production capacity. They were also looking forward to launching a new variant in their product portfolio – flavored milk. To revamp their existing facility and introduce a new milk beverage processing line, they trusted Neologic Engineers to be their process engineering solution provider.

Solutions Provided by Neologic Engineers

MWCD presented their requirements further Neologic Engineers divided the project into two phases: Phase 1 and Phase 2. Phase 1 was where the existing processing capacity was to be increased along with optimizing the existing utilities. Phase 2 was developing new production lines for flavored milk.

Neologic Engineers took upon the designing of equipment that could process milk up to 1.5 to 2 LLPD. They provided engineering solutions that included:

  • Complete processing and packaging solutions for flavored milk processing in PET Bottles
  • Fully automated CIP System
  • Advanced Tank Milk Reception System
  • Cold storage Utility
  • Blast freezers

Neologic Engineers transformed the MWCD manual plant into a semi-automatic plant. Apart from this, Neologic Engineers also provided guidance for utility engineering solutions.

Commissioning and Its Challenges

MWCD had to continuously run its operations as even a single-day pause would affect the entire production. It was the biggest challenge the Neologic Engineers team had to work only during their shutdown time (around 5 to 6 hours).

Another challenge Neologic Engineers had to face was with the infrastructure. The team had to relocate the existing storage tanks from within the premises to outside the premises. The team had to ensure that no damage was made to the ongoing production nor that the pre-existing lines were hampered.

Output Achieved by Mulukanoor Women Cooperative Dairy

Mulukanoor Women Cooperative Dairy successfully increased its production capacity and transformed its fully manual plant into a semi-automatic plant. They could successfully launch their new flavored milk product segment into the market and expand their product portfolio. Even after the strict deadline of 6 months, Neologic Engineers handed over the plant within the time frame they could also avail the government subsidies.

Neologic Engineers Achievement

In this project, Neologic Engineers provided a complete processing solution for flavored milk processing. This processing line included packaging solutions as well. With their expertise and on-time commissioning, Neologic Engineers stood the chance of being a trusted engineering solution provider for India’s first women’s cooperative dairy.

Testimonial

“We sincerely appreciate your efficient commissioning skills, customer service, the level of designing detail for our dairy plant in Mulukanoor. The exceptional work done on-site during the commissioning of the plant that processed 60,000 to 80,000 LPD now processes milk up to 1.5 to 2 LLPD. Setting up a new flavored milk processing line without disturbing the on-going production is a testament to your team's expertise, meticulous planning, and dedication to operational excellence.”
